I decided to express the history in relation to streaming in this Flash storytelling setting to try to make it a little more interesting than a two or three pages of historical writing. This is only an interpretation, meaning that it is likely not a complete and exact recollection of the actual historical events leading to live streaming.

Although I don’t mention this in my Flash presentation above, Jan Krikke (2004) points out that streaming audio and video has existed since the 1970’s, independantly of internet development. Though it remained a niche technology until the mid 1990’s.
